Back on the Ice
I'm back on the Ice again after another uneventful flight south.
Ambient temperatures are sitting in the general region of -18C / 0F this time of the year.
The last plane flight out before the start of winter is in a couple of days from now, along with the first sunset in 4 months.
The other day I had an interview appear on CNN, here it is here...

What a treat to see the beauty that you two experience. Thank you so much. Are you going to do a documentary? There should be one on the big screen. This is, well, words cannot describe it. Awesome. What an adventure! WOW!!!

Yes, making a feature-length film of what it is like to spend a year down here. Should have it out next year.

I am just curious; have you ever been to/spent a winter-over at the South pole? If not, do you think it would be a very different experience than being at McMurdo station?

Yes, I've been to the Pole, but haven't wintered there.
I know plenty of folks who have wintered over there.
The big differences would be lack of scenery (flat white nothingness), even more isolated, smaller population so a lot more intimate, and a lot colder so less incentive to go outside if you don't have to.

I LOOK FORWARD TO FOLLOWING YOUR ADVENTURES. I CAN'T IMAGINE THE COLD. HAD NO IDEA ABOUT THE CHANGES IN SUNRISE/SUNSET. I'LL HAVE TO DO SOME RESEARCH. BEST TO YOU, SHARON

I stumbled upon your site while looking for a time-lapse video of 24-hour sunlight. I don't think such a video exists, but your photos are absolutely incredible!

I have a few time-lapse shots of 24hr sunlight in Antarctica, some of which will be appearing in the film I am putting together.

Just incredible ! Amazing footage and spectacular editing. My brother flies on arctic missions collecting and analyzing weather data, so I will forward your web links on to him. I have bookmarked the above video and will check out your other works soon. You are a master of your craft! Thank you for your sacrifice and dedication, so that us not-so-brave folks can enjoy the beauty of those extremely cold environs.
Stay warm ! - Rob Tschudi
