The Best News Ever

The last two days, Anthony and I have been resting and taking several courses required for our travels out and about. Yesterday we took a 5-hour class on cold weather safety, hypothermia, frostbite, helicopter safety, how to set up a tent and operate a gas-burning stove, as well as how to read sea ice and determine the safety of crossing cracks in it.

We've also been catching up with lots of friends and resting in between. Last night we went out to the local hot spot, Gallaghers bar, and caught some impressive local musical talent, including reggae and bluegrass.

But the best news of all and my biggest Antarctic dream come true...is that tomorrow...we are both getting on a plane to fly to THE SOUTH POLE!

Impressive local talent, huh? Thanks for the compliment. I'm glad you could come out and hear us play.

I'm thrilled that you're getting to Pole. Enjoy it!

    We'll see you for Thanksgiving.
