The Today Show in Antarctica

To kick of the Today Show's week-long "Ends of the Earth" series, someone in the NBC studio found our "Condition One" video on YouTube and played it for Ann Curry. This was to illustrate to her how intense the weather can get in Antarctica.

For the "Ends of the Earth" special, Ann Curry traveled to McMurdo Station, then eventually made it to the South Pole as soon as the weather cooperated. Matt Lauer went to the Arctic Circle and Al Roker went to the Equator. To view some of the segments that aired, go to the Today Show website and search for "Ends of the Earth."

Here is Ann Curry reacting to me opening the door (aired October 26th) during the big blizzard in May 2004.

I was pleasantly surprised to find I had been on national television!

    Hi,

I thought this was kind of silly for Ann Curry to make this trek. After being to McMurdo three times, it really seems kind of wimpy the way she makes it. Also, how many people got bumped just for her to go?

    Anyway, just my two cents.
